I think I can now confidently say I have a reasonably good working example of the IInfoPanel, which correctly (I think) uses the skin.xml, image below.

looking nice Huw. have you tried Motherboard Monitor to get the system temps (just google it),a lot of programs use it to get info, jalcd uses it, so does smartie (i think).
