This is a really stupid question. Sorry.

I have 3 tuners - 2 identical DVB-T tuners and an HVR1300 capturing from a Sky STB. I have 2 EPGs from XMLTV for these; 1 for Freeview and 1 for Sky. There are several places in GB-PVR where an EPG update can be done - do they all work the same?

There is an "Update EPG" button on the "Edit Recording Source" page of the config utility - one for each tuner. There's an "Update EPG" option on the context menu of the tray utility, there's the "Automaic EPG Update" function on the Capture Sources tab in Config, and there's the command line option "-UpdateEPG".

Do these all do the same thing?

Does the option on the "Edit Recording Source" page only update the EPG for that recording source, or all of them?

If I update one DVB-T tuner source, does the other one get updated as they are identical but not the Sky channels (which are different)?

Finally, is it best to do a complete EPG reload with XMLTV files or doesn't it matter?

Sorry to be so thick. TIA.

I have a dual DVB-T card (nova-t-500) and a PVR150 for Sky. I only use one EPG from xmltvgui/Radio Times. When I update EPG from within config any new channels appear in all three tuners. For those that don't exists on a particular tuner, I just untick the box.
I have noticed that if I add or delete a channel from teh EPG source then the 'update epg' in config for one channel seems to update all the tuners.
If your DVB-T tuner source config points to the same EPG file then yes, both will be updated.

I'm doing a 'complete reload' and it seems ok.

Thanks for that.

Do the Update EPG functions from the command line and the tray icon also update all tuners in one go? If I just leave it running with automatic updates for the EPG does it do all tuners at once?

The automatic update will load the EPG data that is pointed to by the EPG plugin tab of each source. In my case they all point to the same XML data file.
