I know that you can set an objects color to transparent, and have it be a gradient from one color to transparent. but is there a way to set the transparency of an object... say to 50% or something like that, so it is a solid color, but semi-opaque.

meh, I will admit that this question could be in other sub forums, but from experience this is the best place to ask a question and keep it from getting overlooked

I assume you mean other than using semi-transparent images?

Some plugins can use this special element:

<SpecialElement name="ForegroundTransparency" percent="100"/>

where 100=opaque 0=fully transparent.

Not all plugins use this, and it doesn't affect text, and it is "global" for all foreground objects.

I don't think there exsists any other way right now to do what you are looking for.

When you specify a colour, in some places you can use "#AARRGGBB" (for example "#77998866"), but it may or may not work where you want it to.
