I think the bt router is this 1

Won`t know for sure till I finish work.

But it says it does DHCP

So I know for sure, I connect it like this

PC to switch

MVP,ADSL router to switch.

It wont affect her internet access, will it??

Thanks

Pete

If the BT modem thingie is wireless only with no ethernet ports at all then you're in a bit of trouble.
If the PC connects to a "wireless thing" and not to the adsl device, then you normally can't add a switch there as the protocol is point to point.

Hmmm, getting tricky.

You post beat mine by seconds.

If it has an ethernet port then you're OK.

All devices connect to the switch. Her net connection should be fine. A quick test would be - take ethernet cable out of pc and plug it into the new switch, add a new cable from the switch to the PC and try it out - all should be fine. Then just add the MVP to the switch.

fingers crossed.

If it is the BT one you've pointed out it has 1 ethernet port, assuming he PC is connected by cable (not wireless) adding a switch and connecting all devices to it should work (I think)
Oh.... do keep the ADSL line in the BT modem/router though :p
