I would like to know how to use the EWA on my GB-PVR 1.0.16. I understand that this application comes with the build 64. I would like to be able to schedule my recordings while I'm at work or if I'm travelling. How can I access the web interface? what site address? Please help!!

You will need to know your ip address or use a free service to get a dns name that points to your machine at home (http://www.no-ip.com is a nice one)
You will also need to open up port 7647 on any firewalls and routers and point the port to your pvr machine.

then go to http://{your ip address or dns name}:7647/gbpvr/

NOTE: This is based off of default settings. If you change the port through the config app then you must replace 7647 with this new port number.

http://www.whatismyip.org

That will tell you your outside IP address. Then go into your router and do port forwarding and forward 7647 to your mediapc internal ip address. (You can figure out your internal ip address by going to start>run> type in cmd then type ipconfig and press enter. This will tell you your ip (192.168.X.X).

What is the safety risk when doing this? Would'nt it be necessary to make sure the account under which gbvr/ewa is running has limited rights? Or...?
