Ok suspect I am on really shaky ground here.

The 1.15 installer fried my database and I lost all recording, tuner setups, channels. Ironically a few of my config.exe settings and directories were saved.

Probably my fault for being a MS-Access Luddite rather than migrating to SQlite. (bad man x1)

Yes I had done all my back-ups prior to install. But I hadn't really left heaps of time fix or restore while wife was out.

So I broke the golden rule and copied my old data base into the new release (bad man x2) But everything seems to be working. How much did the database format change from 1.016 to 1.15?
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual)

DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

Whilst the inplace upgrade works well in the vast majority of cases, things can go wrong, which is precisely why I recommend people take a backup.

No, you're lucky this time around. There was only a small data change for AverMedia M780 owners.

This was what I was hoping to hear. - Cool!

The alternative - "you idiot" would have been less comforting.

There are no "idiots" on this forum...
 • There are some who are less experienced - everyone has to learn
 • There are some who are uncontrollably enthusiastic - every product needs early adopters
 • There are some who are dedicated - and we all benefit from them...
 • Then there are the older ones (like me) - we have 'senior moments'
