I really didn't notice it until today, but people are starting to put images in their sigs - not a big deal really, but when I'm at work I usually read the forums at lunch via an ssh tunnel to my home network - since it's a little slow, I usually block images in firefox, but I can't block those images since it will block ALL images from forums.gbpvr.com (including the smileys - can't block the smileys!).

I know some forums that I'm on, people have annoyingly large siggys (like half a screens worth), so I just block them and let everyone else complain about it.

Just wondering if there was a recent change to these forums to enable that or if it's the "new thing"? Maybe I'm just too old school.

No, there hasnt been a change. Its been possible for a long time, but I think until recently no one had used this function.

I cant say I've noticed though, other than one particular users sig (which is very 'in your face').

Click on "User CP" at the top of the page.
Then click "Edit Options" on the left side of the page that comes up.
Scroll down to the "Thread Display Options" section.
Deselect the "Show Avatars" check box.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes".

Problem solved. Smile

I dunno, I guess I'm whining a little bit - I just don't see the purpose of creating an image of text that describes your system. It'd be a lot easier to just type it in and be done with it, besides it makes it easier to change when you upgrade Big Grin

Almost - I like the avatars, just not the image siggys. Like I already mentioned, I'm just whining.

BTW, like the Iron Man avatar. I had every issue up until I stopped collecting them about 10 years ago.
