No Sound on AVI

I recently did a reinstall on my OS. Prior to this everything was working fine on my MVP i was even able to listen to .ape and flac files if i changed the extension to .fla. However after the reinstall i have an issue with sound when i try to play an AVI file. There is no sound at all. I can still play mp3, ape and the afore mentioned flac files. web radio also works. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
PS: I have installed the klite codec pack i cant remember the name but it was the one above basic.

AVI files do not play natively on the MVP. They must be transcoded on the fly. Codec packs will not solve tis problem for playing AVIs on the MVP

GB-PVR comes with ffmpeg, and is configured by default to transcode AVIs on the fly. Its possible you may need to tweak the ffmpeg command line string in the config.xml in order to best suit your needs.

Other people will use ZProcess to handle the transcoding. Actually, ZProcess does not transcode anything, but rather controls a transcoder like ffmpeg or mencoder. Its slightly easier to adjust settings in ZProcess than tweak the command line.

ZProcess will also help maintain the aspect ratio of your wide screen AVIs.

Its possible that you were either using ZProcess or had tweaked your settings for ffmpeg in your previous setup...

Zehd thank you for the quick response. Before i reinstalled i actually copied the entire gbpvr folder. After the reinstall I installed GBPVR from the exe and then copied the folder back. FFMPEG and the config file should be the same as before. This is the reason i was looking for something on the pc such as codecs etc. I guess I should have mentioned that in my original post but it was late and i wasnt thinking very well. Thanks again for your input.


Update: I took your advice and installed the zprocess and ..VOILA... it started working. I am not sure why it worked before and didnt now but at any rate your solution did indeed work. Thank you!!!
