Aspectratio

i miss the ability to "not" use the aspect ratio.
as I can recall, we could make the "frame" as we liked, but now we can't
is this just me or is this a new feature?

Nothing has changed about the aspect ratio control in a very very long time. You can press F7 to toggle between aspect ratio modes. You can either leave it on the 'auto' mode, or select one of the others.
