Looking at this article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hdcp

says that Blue-Ray content may require HDCP on your device.
Quote:If the display device—or in the case of using a PC to decrypt and play back HD DVD or Blu-ray media, the graphics card (hardware, drivers and playback software)—does not support HDCP, then a connection cannot be established. As a result, a black picture and/or error message will likely be displayed instead of the video content.

I started thinking of this while looking at video cards. This one has HDCP:

but this one (almost exactly alike) doesn't:

Also, what are your thoughts on these 3?

I've heard that there could be HDCP issues even if you dont use a video cable that isnt HDCP certified. Is this actually true?

I am pretty sure its not (no matter how much Monster Cable wants it to be)

HDCP is just data going over the wire, so if you have a cable that has issues (low quality, blocking etc) then it could conceivably hose the hdcp handshake

Well, I'm seeing stuff that says video cards can be 'HDCP' compatible.
