MVP Remote 34 vs 45 button. Advice please

I'm looking for a spare MVP on ebay and most seem to be 34 button. My current one is 45 button.

Will a 45 button remote work with an MVP that came with a 34 button one?
What is the up/downside of a 34 button remote. I have a "spare" 45 button remote from my PVR150 that 99.9% of the time is a controlled by keyboard.

I use the remote from my HVR 1600 with one of my MVP's all the time. I seem to have so many Hauppauge remote, and ir blasters around I don't know what belongs to what anymore.

Also even if you use the old remote if you use mvpmc you can get access to most of the useful new buttons using go key combinations http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=2

Thanks for that Martin, sounds like no problem then.
One of the reasons for a spare MVP is to have a play with mvpmc where I can run MVP and server within vision of each other !
