In the database what does the number represent in the PLAYBACK_POSITION table field last_position.
Is this the number of seconds played? I guess it is as it seems to be quite close to what I'd expect.

If I watch a program to the end will the playback position be at the end or not stored in the database?

cheers

It is seconds.

For your last question if you watch it all the way through in one sitting i'm not sure if anything is put in the db. I certainly updates if you stop the recording, not sure if you let it run to the end and it stops automatically, I have a feeling the second one doesn't update the db...

Quite a while ago I asked if sub could put the maximum seconds in the db as i was using the playback_position to determine if the program was watched or not...

Thats one of the things I'm doing. I want to determine if I've watched it already. It would be really good if the playback position was set to the end if the program reached the end.

At present I can only detect that it is near the end so I must have watched it. I don't want to have to look at the next recording of a season to see if I have started it to figure that the previous one may have been watched. I guess for now repositioning the playback position is the only option but a bit clunky.

Thanks for the info

Keith

You can also check this older thread, which provides some more details on when the record is written to the db, and when it isn't.
