UbuRadio time shifting not working for me?

Hi all,
I have installed ubustream and uburadio and am not managing to get uburadio time shifting any radio stations(preview play is ok). Ubustream does do time shifting. I am at a loss as to why I can't get UbuRadio time shifting, I looked through the logs and found the errors/failures listed below, but they don't help me shed any light on the situation. The file to be played does get created and grows. I have attached the logs in full hoping for the best really

From the logs, it looks as if you may have the delay time set too short (ie. UbuRadio gives up waiting for VLC to start playing/transcoding the stream and times out). The fact that Timeshift works for you in UbuStream (which uses a slightly different approach for setting the delay) suggests that it this may be the problem.

From the UbuRadio wiki page:

The configuration window is accessed from the plugins tab of the GB-PVR config app. It allows you to set a default action for the Play button (the “standard” default is Preview, except for when using a MediaMVP when it will only allow Timeshift) and to set a [I]Wait Time which will delay playback after the MP3 file has been created when using Timeshift mode. For most systems, a value of 0 is fine. For less powerful systems, low network bandwidth or for MVP use, a higher value will be needed. For MVP users, 10,000 should handle even the slowest streams. Wireless MVPs may require an even longer delay.[/I]

I would try gradually increasing the Wait Time value and see if that helps. Also (wishy-washy disclaimer ), some streams seem to work well with Timeshift and other streams not so much. Personally, I mainly use Preview play but I do realize that, for MVP users, Timeshift is important.

I set the timer to 20 and got it to run once, it would have been nice if I tried it a few times before changing the timeout to something else, doh:eek:

I can see the file growing while I am waiting so I think it is some peculiarity with my box.

any way if i ever figure it out I'll post, ps I am using 1.2.9 of gbpvr.
