This is the problem. I need to capture an RGBS (Red, Green, Blue, Composite Sync). I don't have $20K to spend on a professional editing or capture station that can output DV, so I'm hoping someone out there can give me a hand. Does anyone know of any products under, say, $300 that could get the signal into a PC for editing? It's coming from a Sony DXC-3000 camera to a...uhm...CCU that I cant recall. I can output composite video or RGBS. Composite looks great and all but if I can, I'd like to get the resolution of the component output... I can go for firewire, USB2, or PCI (no PCIe on my video box  )

Any and all pointers or direction greatly appreciated

the only one that's cheap is the hauppauge hdpvr...it's usb and has component inputs....[like coming out of cable box]

but is your sync on one of the colors or separate?
usually it's on green cable..if you have more than 3 then i'm not sure if hdpvr can handle it...are there any other outputs? if cam has firewire that'd be way to go...otherwise i think HDPVR is only way to go..if it can do it even..
might have a wait as they are selling fast...Smile

What we call "component video" isn't compatible with RGBS..

I did some googling and found a card called SweetSpot that supposedly is the cheapest one to accept RGBS input; looks like folks in Europe using Sky are using it. See if you can find more information on that.
