I have before used GBPVR until my PC with XP stopped functioning - and I did not get MVP function on VIsta - Have been using Microsoft - but I like GBPVR and the MVP so I thought of buying a cheap used computer with XP.

I only use SD and normally analogue and Hauppauge 150.

would a P4 512MB RAM work?
Using DELL P4 1.5GB RAM 250 GB HD + DLINK DNS313 netdisk 1,5TB, 2 pieces of Hauppauge PVR150 w/45-button remote, 1 Popcorn Hour 110. Win XP SP3. GB-PVR v1.4.7 Plugins: Xrecord

With an MVP, I'm fairly sure it would. I use a P4 3.2 with 4 tuners and an MVP + PCH
I have 1gb, but I think it should run in 512 ok.

I'm not sure of your problem getting the MVP to work with Vista, but if it was getting the share to work with mvpmc you might like to have a look at this thread as sub & martin did some work on it recently to make things much easier to setup.

I run PVRX2 an GBPVR (PVR350 output to old TVs) both at the same time on a non-tweaked basic install of XP and the RAM usage does not exceed 450Mb. I only really use it for recording and watching TV.
I actually have 1Gb of RAM installed but no swap file in use.

If you need help getting GBPVR and mvpmc working together leave a message in the mvpmc forum. It probably was something simple like the firewall or even a simple misunderstanding of how to install GBPVR on Vista.

Martin.
