If you really want to uses the ez scripts you need to access the share from the Network Browser with guest shares.

i guess i am not sure what you mean by using a guest share.
what is the advantage of using the normal way vs ez way?

The choice of methods is up to you. I prefer original method, which has been simplified a lot from the early days when a command line was mandatory, and most of the posts are refer to it. It also allows passwords with I don't think the ez method will.

The ez method does benefit from zero configuration no modifications of scripts.

I did manage to get the old method working! Not sure what I did differently but before when i tried, I could never get past the telnet step.

The one thing I prefer with the ez method is not having to run that telnet thing before jumping into GBPVR. Can you explain what you mean by going through a guest share through Network Browser? Last time, I created a share in pch called mvpmc and ran the index.html and it worked...not sure why it is not working any more. Do you mean instead of creating a pch share I need to just goto Network Browser and select that share manually and start index.html from there?

I will be releasing a merged script in the next release. The mvpmcx2 client seems totally solid now, and all the problems that I have seen for quite a while now relate in failure to follow the survival guide especially setting up the server properly.

I have also contacted journey4712 who kindly has updated his index.html installer to integrate gbpvr into the hard disk based advanced menu system.

The ez scripts will run from any share you can access from the Network Browser.

In the guide for dummies sticky (II. Test Connection), exactly how do you "run the Network Browser from the Source menu"?

- Hit the Source button on the NMT remote
- Select Network Browser
- Select the Workgroup you are in (you set this on the Properties of you Computer)
- Find the mvpmc share
