Did you extract the DvbtrLib files to both the plugins\DVB-T Radio folder and the plugins\Common folder?

Woops forgot to copy to common, sorry about that! Done it now and good news, it works!

There are a few glitches though. The sound is peppered with pauses if use live playback is false. I can change channel and stop though.

On the other hand sound is unbroken on my machine if use live playback is true. In this case I can change channels but cannot stop. If I try to stop I cannot change channels anymore.

Also the first time I play a channel there is an initial approx 30 second period when PVRX2 'is not responding'.

With this new info should I still go ahead and do the test?

Is it possible to increase the bit rate from 128 kbps to say 256?

OK, that IS good news (I think) but I'm not sure where you are with the settings I suggested you try.

The initial problem you had was with the default approach of buffering to the gbnetradio mp3 file (live playback = false). This is obviously working now but which did you change? Playback buffer delay, audio encoder name or both? You can test which one fixed it by simply deleting one or other of the entries in the xml file and it will default to previous behaviour - I'd be interested to know.

Strange - I find this mode more stable on my machine. How often and how long are the pauses? If you bring up Task Manager and look at CPU usage, do the pauses tie-in with peaks of CPU use? Alternatively, do the pauses tie-in with the GB-PVR screensaver moving the logo position? I added the option to disable the screensaver during playback as I get a pause every time the screensaver logo fades back in.

I haven't changed anything at this level so I'd expect this to still be a problem.

Hmmm, I don't know about that one - I'd need to perhaps look at logs (including the pvrx2 ones).

Well the test was to try to find out why it failed to playback the buffer file so possibly not at this stage. I would be interested in logs though.

I've tried to workout how to change the bitrate of the lame encoder but haven't managed it yet - perhaps in a future release when I get the info needed.

The plugin now works with the new binaries and without any changes to the xml file. Making the changes (buufer or decoder) doesn't have a noticable effect.

The pauses are just glitches, like playing music over a wireless connection without enough bandwidth, every 5 seconds say. There is no correlation with CPU use or the screensaver.

I have started, stopped and changed channels a few times with no issues apart from the glitches (<UseLivePlayback>False</UseLivePlayback>). Also gbnetradio-0.mp3 s not deleted after stopping.

I have attached the logs and hope this helps. I will also set <UseLivePlayback>True</UseLivePlayback> and send the corresponding logs in a subsequent post.

Upping the bitrate would be the icing on the cake!

Thanks for your efforts on this,

Al

Here are the logs when <UseLivePlayback>True</UseLivePlayback>

Just to recap: Radio channel will play if UseLivePlayback is true but will not stop or change channel. There are no glitches in the sound though.

Bizarre - I haven't changed anything that I know of which would suddenly make this work with the buffer file.

I'm not sure what could be causing this - as I said, I only find this when the GB-PVR screensaver is active - it can be disabled in the xml file if you want to try it anyway.

Quote:Also gbnetradio-0.mp3 s not deleted after stopping.
I don't delete the mp3 buffer files but it will only ever create a max. of three of them then re-use the filenames in rotation.

If I can find out how to do it, I will match the bitrate to the broadcast rate which varies from channel to channel from 96kbps to a max. of 192kbps. None of the radio channels use 256kbps.

Could you try live playback as True but also with <AudioDecoderName>MPA Decoder Filter</AudioDecoderName>. I'd expect that the MS audio decoder was still being used in that last test - I'd like to know if the graph will stop correctly with the MPA decoder in place.

Cheers,
Brian
