Stupid question I know, but begining to sway away from MVP and towards PCH.

Looks like A-110 is out soon, I assume you all would suggest waiting and get this.

Is it best to order direct direct from http://www.popcornhour.com or is there a cheaper way?

ISTR the A110 has been available for a while.
I think there are varying opinions. The A100 does what I need to do and for an extra 36 or so USD I wouldn't get anything extra I needed.

I got mine direct, I'm not sure if there are any decent UK distributors.
Factor in that you will get stung a month after delivery with a Duty+VAT+ handling fee from DHL. Also consider what if it goes wrong and has to be returned under warranty. (mine died and had to be returned, but you can just send the PCB and it's a lot cheaper.)

pixmania have the A-100 at £159.20 + £11.63 shipping, so probably a better bet, as I guess the hidden costs will excedd this by some way.

I have also been wondering about how warranty on these NMT's work and have not purchased one because I havent gotten an answer to my questions about it.

Specifically, I wonder what happens to the warranty if the unit (A-100 or A-110) is NOT purchased directly from them or from one the distributors/resellers listed on their website. So what would happen if a unit is purchased :
a) Brand NEW from someone on ebay
b) Used from someone on ebay (still within the warranty period)

Does popcornhour require you to be the original owner (non-transferrable warranty) or do they go by some information specific to the NMT (e.g. serial number) which would mean that the warranty is transferrable.

Thanks,

The law will be different in different countries I guess.
Made worse when bought from a different country!.

However. You are invited to register your product on their website, with serial number, date of purchase and from where (popcornhour website or "other" )

When I registered mine when I first got it, it just seemed to accept the details I put in. From whay I have read on their forum, they seem to be treating everyone very fairly.

I think I would try to insist on the original receipt if I bough off ebay or other second user place.

I wasn't asked for any proof-of-purchase.
