I ham in the process of setting up a new GBPVR server after testing with my main PC and PCH.

However although the new GBPVR server works fine, I cannot connect to the c:\mvpmc share I have created on the PCH.

The share settings are the same as my original share on my main PC, so I have no idea what is wrong.

I have reset to factory the PCH, and ensured the firewall is turned off, PCH sees the share available on the new server, but wont connect or browse the contents.

You shouldn't be mad at the PCH because you can't set up a Windows share, and definitely resetting the PCH was unnecessary. You should be mad at MS, you paid for this and it is truly not user friendly.

Since I think the problem is related to guest share access, you should follow the same troubleshooting steps we went through on your last computer.

I will go through that post again, but the issue is not the same as I could always access the share on th oter PC, just couldnt run the telnet file.

Actually you are right, it doesn't say much about the share. If you can browse but not see content, it is probably permissions. Unshare the folder and reshare it for guest might help.

Have downgraded to August Firmware and all is working fine, I did swap the server name with the IP address but no joy.

At least it's working again

Steve.

Good to hear. Did you trying using the IP address instead of a name to see if this works on the current firmware?

Yes as per post 6 Big Grin, just got to sort the old problem now of the dreaded black screen when I stop viewing recordings. Live TV is OK

I have edited the config.xml file and changed the MAC address of the PCH.

I have also disabled Comskip as I believe others ahve had issues with this.

If you would check my logs though I would be grateful

thanks

Your files seem to be failing for a different reason, the initial skip before the com skip file is loaded. sub will need to look at this one.
