Hello all,

I got GB-PVR up and running. What a great package! I received the Actisys 200L IR blaster and have not been able to get it to work. The was not able to train the device form the IR200L Channel Changer Configuration screen.

My question does the IR200L Changer Plugin installs whatever drivers needed to make the IR200L work when connected to an available serial com port?

Do I need to install any window XP Pro (SP2) drivers?

Is there anyway to tell if the GBPVR is communicating with the device?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I have been struggling trying to get this device to work and so far I not had much luck.

Thanks,

KT

What type of set top box are you trying to control? You get the occasional box uses a non-standard IR control protocol which the IR200L is unable to understand. Old Jerrold cables spring to mind, but there are others to. Some PACE boxes use IRDA, which is also incompatible.

You dont need any drivers installed. In fact, drivers can get in the way.

GB-PVR uses the same as_ir200l.dll file to control the IR200L as many other applications use (beyondtv, showshifer, meedio etc). To check that your blaster is working, you could download an eval of one of them and try it.

Thank you so much for responding. I will download as_ir200l.dll to see if there is anything wrong with my device.

The cable box I am trying to control is Motorola DCT2223. However, I don't think I got as far as sending the signal to control the cable box. I got stuck at the IR 200L Plugin Configure screen where it tells me to Press and HOLD CHANNEL 1 for 1 or 2 minutes. I pressed the cable box remote control for 2-3 mins and the screen was just stayed there.

Really appriciate your suggestion, I try it out.
