I have installed an Angel (1) dual tuner along with the PVR-500 which was installed first.

The PVR-500 was installed as follows:
PVR500-1 with FM Capture device #1
PVR500-2 Capture device #2

It was working okay this way.

Then, I installed the Angel tuner and tried setting it to Capture device #3 and #4, but it wouldn't work. GBPVR complained that the driver was not installed. If I set both to Capture device #1, then one works. (I assume, of course, that this messes up the PVR-500, since it was set to #1 and #2)

So, how should these 2 cards, both of which apparently work, be set up in config in order to have all 4 tuners working?

The device # actually refers to the device driver 'instance' and not a physical device as such.

For example, if you have two tuners of the same type, there will be two copies of the same device driver installed. GB-PVR uses the device # to determine which copy of the driver is installed for which tuner. In this case you must number them #1 and #2. If you have two tuners of different make/model which use completely different device drivers, both would be numbered #1.

In your case, I'm guessing the two Angel tuners will be using two copies of the same device driver but these are different to the PVR500. In this case the PVR-500 tuners should be #1 and #2 and the Angel tuners #1 and #2. If, on the other hand, one Angel tuner is analogue and the other is digital (for example) then both Angel tuners would be #1.

Cheers,
Brian

Thanks. That clears up a lot.
