Hello all.

Only my third question.

Where do I find the brightness/contrast/saturation/hue/sharpness settings within either the GBPVR application or the registry.

Reason I ask is the default settings for the Hauppauge WinTV USB2 unit that I use are not good. The only way I can change them is to open the device with media player classic (im sure other apps would do just as well) and open the filter properties for the USB TV unit and change brightness, contrast etc. , I can then get the picture to my liking. However, the changes are not permanent !!

How are you guys adjusting brightness etc with GBPVR.

Great app. by the way.

Many thanks.

Chris.

There is none. It just uses the defaults.

I stand to be corrected, but I think brightness et al are controlled by the graphics card, not the input device or pvrx2.
To do what you ask on my PC I'd set some hot keys in catalyst control center (as its an ATI card - but i'd guess nVidia has an equivalent), If you've got any spare buttons you could then map these to remote commands if needed.

Fuzzweed, thanks for the reply. I too use an ATI card and I have looked at this... but .... the ATI controls only work on the video in overlay mode, and I use VMR9 fse. I could change the desktop brightness etc (which does effect video also) but then my desktop is dark !!

You can adjust the TV card settings, but GBPVR doesn't give you access to its control panel (I can access it with media player classic for example). There may be good reason for this as many people are suggesting to change output settings and not input settings..... I can understand this logic, although I still want to experiment for myself.

Further searching of the forum finds that maybe I can change the settings in direct.ini (GBPVR file) and change the settings from AUTO to <desired value> for brightness etc. I'm going to have a play with this later.

Any more suggestions would be most welcome.

Done it !! Edit default.ini to change the default brightness/contrast/hue/saturation/sharpness. Works a treat Smile
