It would be helpful if show listings were marked as first runs, or reruns. It would make selecting which episodes to record much easier to figure out.

I dont like spending time making features that are region specific, and unfortunately this information is only known for North American users using the Schedules Direct service.

I didn't realize that that information wasn't somewhere in the EPG download. Thanks just the same.

This is a variation on First vs. Rerun and this messes me up sometimes with shows in perpeptual rerun.
I have two season recordings to record a block of "Law & Order" or M*A*S*H, I'll check and see the day before or a few hours in advance that a certian ep will record. I come back hours later it is gone, no error status. When I look in the logs, it shows that the episode ID is a duplicate so it deletes the dup before it will record, it appears to check about 30 minutes in advance of the scheduled recording. The only thing is, it is a duplicate of a future and as yet unrecorded episode. This usually happens when I have the box record an all day marathon and retain the daily season recording. Some of the episodes in the marathon are also set to be aired during the next 7-10 days in the normal daily mini-marathon. This burned me when I recorded any BSG on SciFi (they rebroadcast the new episodes the same night several times) where I had it record anything on Fridays or Saturday which matched, one time the power was out for the later time slot and the earlier scheduled recording had been skipped because it was a duplicate of a future recording. Could there be a preference in the config set up to prefer checking dups only against actual past recordings vs. all (including future) or at least give precedence to the earlier scheduled recording where when the earlier recording succeeds it can then delete the later duplicate one? |
