More than 8 tuners or fix for 2250 taking 2 per tuner

It appears that each Hauppauge 2250 card requires using GBPVR 4 tuner slots, 2 for SD and 2 for HD, even though technically there's only 2 tuners usable in the card at the same time.

I believe GBPVR is limited to 8 tuners total.

This has the effect of limiting you to two Hauppauge 2250s usable in any ones system and thus limiting one to 4 recordings at any one time. (Assuming no multi-recording of HD)

I would like to see this fixed/changed to either make each combination SD/HD tuner use only 1 slot or allow more slots.

And yes, I actually do have times when I want to record more than 4 shows at a time.

Have you tried more? I have 9 configured on my test machine (although they may not all be plugged in, they are configured). I think it is only a limitation of the tray application only displaying up to 8.

Ya, I noticed only 8 showed on the tray and I thought I remembered reading only 8 tuners supported by GBPVR.

I'd configured 2 of my 3 2250s and my dual PVR-500 and the 500's weren't showing on the tray display.

Well if that's true, I would like the tray app cleaned up to show both SD/HD tuners as one and/or expanded beyond showing 8.

There is no limit on the number of tuners supported, but the tray icon will only show the status of the first 8 capture sources.

I'll see about updating the tray icon to support more capture sources. Admittedly, its not high on my priority list though - you're probably one of about two users with more than 8 capture sources...

Easy when you're messing around- remember 'sources' not 'tuners'

(1) and (2) Nova-t-500 dual dvb-t
(3) and (4) 2nd Nova-t-500
(5) Variable RF input of PVr150
(6) Fixed channel input PVR150 (for STB)
(7) Composite input of PVR150
(8) S350 DVB-T satellite tuner
(9) Nova-S DVB-t Satellite tuner.
10,11,12 easily duplicated with PVR USB2
The odd DVB-T USB stick that gets tried out....

For the record, I hope that change never happens. I rather like them being divided up.

I wont be combining them. I'll always list the status on a capture source level.
