DVD protection

Hi

Cold wintery public holiday has the kids browseing our DVD collection. Have had some problems with certain titles not working due to copy protection (Macrovision?) on my HTPC with GBPVR. Can get around it by ripping to disk with Ripit4me, but introduces another step. I believe something like AnyDVD will get around copy protection on the fly.

Any thoughts on the best type of program to achieve this which works within GBPVR??

Afaik Anydvd works fine. It works on driver-level so every program accessing the dvd-drive will use it.

I use anydvd for exactly this kind of issue. I would get a message saying the dvd could not be played at the selected resolution (or something like that). I also had issues with Blurays/HDDVDs not playing because I use a component connection (old HD TV). Anydvd cleared it all up. Everything works perfectly now.
