Wiki links

While updating the wiki I've noticed a lot of links use full URLs instead of 'wiki links':

Wiki link:
[[Config/General  | General Page]]

Isn't it best to use wiki links as they're shorter and won't break if the wiki or gbpvr website is moved? Or have a missed a memo?

Seriously, I would suspect that relative paths would be the better, but there hasn't really been much moving around. It has to do with the actual file storage on the server. From what I understand, the wiki server does need some file maintenance, but it hasn't really caused a problem so far.

I was told sometime ago, rename pages, don't delete them... But then I was also told that *some* of us can do some of that, so long as we make sure we've kept things straight.

Typically, for wiki reorganization, I will copy a pages content to a new page at new location and the 'delete' the old location. This does not take care of attachments though, and so to conserve HardDrive space I will hardlink to those attachments, rather than reupload them.

There's been a major reorganization when fatman_do worked on collecting the skin dev and ultil dev pages.

Probably the one thing that *I* concern myself is adding %newwin% to precede a full or partial URL. That way, when a viewer is skanning a page and clicks a link, they don't lose their place on the original page... But that's just me...
