As it is now it doesn't work very well to record 2+ encrypted channels
at the same time. For example, I have 2 tuners, but if two recordings are in parallell, the result has stuttering video due to the fact that both recording processes use the "same" plugin, i.e. the same settings. The plugins often can handle more than one instance running, but they need to be able to use different configurations.
Perhaps a directory for each tuner under MDPlugins?

I believe this deserves a bump. I'm not sure if the mdapifilter.ax needs an update to get this working, or that GBPVR needs a change. Maybe sub can give some insight to this matter. I'm not a fan of mediaportal and I'm not trying to promote it, but it is working there. And that's with the same mdapifilter as the one I'm using for GBPVR. It creates a directory for each card, and it can even decrypt multiple channels on the same transponder. For that to work it needs as much directories as there are possible channels to decrypt. So for instance you would get these directories:

Code:
Cinergy C PCI Digital Capture Card0 Plugin0
Cinergy C PCI Digital Capture Card0 Plugin1
And each directory would contain a mdplugin, for instance Acamd.
Mdapicards.xml in the MDplugins directory has to be setup to make this work. All this can be read at http://zepman.tweakblogs.net/blog/2228/z....html#more but unfortunately it's in Dutch.

The new CI part of GBPVR is just great, BTW. But I believe that softcam's are the future, since the power of the content providers is rising and HTPC's are one of things they'd like to make stop working. New types of encryption are probably coming, making my Alphacrypt CAM's useless and I believe new softcam's will be the fastest way to get my HTPC's back when it comes that far.

I second this request!
I would very much like to view/record more than one encrypted channel with my three tuners.

I did some more research on this matter and started using the latest mdapifilter.ax and ffdesca.dll from here: http://dvbn.happysat.org/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=47290. When I use this and check the mdapifilter.log I see the following message:

Code:
13-09-2009 20:02:46 [INFO] [MAIN] CMDAPIFilter::CMDAPIFilter Not delaying plugin loading... this means that setDirectory will not work!.
I believe GBPVR needs to use this "plugin loading delaying" for our wish to come true. So it's something sub would have to program.
In the happysat thread Heerfordt says the following in July 2008: "The thing regarding supporting two cards in GBPVR is still not in place, I have just talked with SUB about it and he will look into it on Tuesday. It should be few lines of code before that is also working. I will make a post when it's in place.... ", but it looks like it never got further than that. Heerfordt has been around on this forum to, but not lately.

I emailed Heerfordt recently to talk about about adding multi MDAPI support to GB-PVR, but unfortunately I didnt hear back from him. Maybe he was busy, or maybe no longer using the email address we used to communicate on.

That's great news. I know you're very busy, so maybe my little detective work helps: http://dvbn.happysat.org/memberlist.php?...e&u=146382, it shows he was still active on that forum yesterday, so there's hope.
