Manual prefixing of Shows.

Not sure on the mechanics of this, but it's an idea I've been kicking around for our lack of genres.

Being able to add a manual prefix to a show when scheduling, ie: "Movie:" Since most of our movies have stupid titles like "Tuesday Blockbuster Movie: XYZ"

So "Movie" would become come the Title, and "Tuesday Blockbuster Movie: XYZ" would become the subtitle.

So in the Ready Recordings list they would all show up in the same list (if you remembered to title then this way).

Thoughts on complexity/usefulness?

Cool, sounds good. If our epg was more standardised I guess it wouldn't be an issue.

In the UK, birtles EPG grabber gives an option of shoving 'film' or 'movie' to the beginning of a title. But sorry, I haven't a clue where it digs the info from (I'm guessing that our RadioTimes epg source contains more data than yours?)

You could try and run your epg through TVxB, an epg grabber I use.
It has setups for all sorts of formats, clipping suffix and prefix and title / subtitle splits after colons etc.

Here's an example ini file, you can see all the substituions and clips and stuff. Just a thought.

There's probably a plugin that does all this somewhere too!
