I'm thinking about replacing my Asus P4V8X-X mobo as I'm not convinced it's quite right in the head.

Got my eye on the Intel D865gbf (the hardware guys at work claim you can't go wrong with an Intel chipset - hmmm, I'll take their word for it.

Anyone got one of these? Specifically, the Asus hangs at startup if I have my PVR500 in unless I replace the AGP graphics card with a PCI one. That doesn't bode well and makes me feel a bit uneasy about the mobo in general.

Cheers,
Brian

Bgowland,
I have an AMS Electronics E-Cube that has that chipset (Intel 82865G) on the motherboard. I have a PVR 350 that has run just fine on it for me so far. Granted, I'm using just the motherboard's on-board video so I don't know how that would translate to your proposed setup. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Thanks for the replies.

It doesn't bother me if I use the onboard graphics, I just don't like using up a PCI slot for the graphics card if I don't have to.

Henrik - have you tried the PVR-500 in your PC with the D865GBF board?
