I'm guessing that the channel is the left column and the frequency is the rightmost column in this ...

That list is for analogue where the audio and video are subcarriers of the basic frequency. But yes, it looks like the righthand column is the correct one.
I chucked a copy of that in the spreadsheet as a manual lookup for myself along with the +/- 166 offset that some places use for some strange reason.

Those ini files are a bit odd in that some info is redundant, but as a lot of software seems to use them the format has to stay.

I'm back to learning Delphi and hope that all I will have to do is input something like 33 or 33- or 33+ and it will fill the rest in (in my dreams!).

martint123 Wrote:After having done only three lines - I think I'll change from a spreadsheet to something else that makes input easier and channel to frequency lookup easier! It might be a bit easier when I use the big montor in teh shack rather than this smaller one, VNC'ing into it.
I chucked in a field for live/future where a date could go to be tacked onto the filename/

After hours of googling and a severe headache, I have tried to make a spreadsheet that generates INI files for transmitters that www.ukfree.tv calls "full service Freeview transmitters". The attached is in Excel 2007 format because it uses a function that is not available in earlier versions. I am working on a sheet for earlier versions of Excel. The attached is incomplete because I haven't finished copying all the channel numbers from www.ukfree.tv. Let me know if it works for you.

My old version won't recognise it. I'll take the oportunity for a delayed look at Open Office in the morning when my ISP stops throttling. I'm still recovering from taking delivery of 37 rolls of roof insulation

now that's an impressive internet connection that can download roof insulation... do they start throttling at 30?

I'm a sucker for bargains and at a subsidised £1 a roll delivered I coudn't resist!

Graham, I grabbed the m/s format conversion thingie and your upload seems to work fine for me, but as readonly. I've never played to any extent with m/s office stuff so I'm impressed with what you have managed to get it to do. If it is of any use I could start creating a text file for you to import, with me starting at the end of the list and working up, in the similar format you seem to have used.

The attached should be Excel version independent. I'll finish doing the channel copies tomorrow (I've got as far as E...)
