Has anyone tried one of these systems? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...cer%20revo I've been reading on other forums like XBMC and they use it as a set top box for client. Add a large external drive or use NAS for storage don't see why it would not work as the main PVR. Some have loaded Windows 7 to get better performance and the HDMI port is a plus. You would have to use a USB tuner as well. For $199.00 I'm thinking using it as a client and not mess with the NMT device for GBPVR since this would be much easier to set up.

I am using one of these, as a client. I dont think i would use it as a full GBPVR instance with a tuner as the CPU is pretty limited, while recording is a low intensity process, playing HD video using DXVA is still somewhat taxing on the atom and leaves little room for other processes. As a client for US ATSC HD/SD content its been working pretty solidly, See my thoughts here. I have also used am NMT and it is definitly more poweful than the atom and pretty easy to install. If i didnt use this for other intenet streaming video i think the NMT might be a little better, although i did have some FF/FW issues but martin is pretty good with his support and that makes it even easier to use. But the revo is pretty close and the duel core version might be better. I am pretty satified though with the R1600

My initial reaction to this was Huh?? Easier to setup a client than an NMT?? Besides being twice the price of a refurbished A100.

I think you are one of a biggish number that have been fooled by the messages in the NMT support forum on the NMT being hard to setup whereas they are actually really simple to setup & get running. They have brilliant integration into GB-PVR (now with PCH2 mode) & work fantastically for doing all the normal GB stuff, not quite so good if you transcode recordings away from mpg or .ts format though.

A while ago I did start a thread for users to post their experiences with the NMT but unfortunately it hasn't had any posts recently.
