I have a question about getting my tuner card working in GB-PVR, but first some background:

I'm pretty new to this HTPC thing, and I just decided that pausing and rewinding live TV, as well as TV guides, TV-to-DVD, etc. was just too cool. I took a spare Pentium III/600 at 800MHz with 300 or so MB of RAM and built up an HTPC. At first I was going to use my ATi All-in-wonder Radeon (7200 GPU), but then I found out that it is unsupported by... everything. I then dug out this old AVerTV, plugged it in, installed their little TV-app-thingie, and voila, TV. Not the 10-foot-UI that I want though, so I installed GB-PVR (waaay faster than mediaportal).

ANYWAY Wink

What steps do I need to take to get this AVerTV M-XXXX (I forget what it is, exactly) working under GB-PVR? Is it even supported? And is there some little byte of information on the Wiki somewhere that I'm missing? Perhaps a tutorial on getting cards not listed in the dropdown menu to work?

I dunno, I'm just confused. The autodetect says I don't have any capture cards installed, so...

Thanks,
Tandyman

EDIT: FWIW I'm 14 and have been building computers for a couple years now. Also a collector of vintage computers. Smile

That PC is well under the minimum recommended minimum.

What type of TV are you trying to watch? Analog cable? If so, does this device have a hardware MPEG2 encoder? This is required for GB-PVR.

I have no idea if it had a hardware oncoder or not. Yea, just analog cable, standard-def.

It most likely doesnt have a hardware encoder, since only a small percentage of analog devices for. Cards like the Hauppauge PVR150, HVR-1800. HVR2250 etc.

@Tandyman100, run filtercheck.exe located in the GBPVR program folder (C:\Program Files\DevNZ\GBPVR). It should create a file called "filtercheck.log". Zip and post the log file.
