I didnt look at all the whole scan, but I looked at the first dozen or so frequencies that found channels, and the same channels seem to find the same names in NPVR and GBPVR. Is there specific channels that you can point to as an example?

As Martin mentioned above, note the NPVR scan only lists channels not already in the database, so if you rescan you wont see channels with names that you've already got enabled from a previous scan. Maybe this is confusing you into thinking it's not finding the channels?

I wonder if this is the same issue I had. Is each channel scanned adding all the previous PID's scanned causing the number of channels grow exponentially?

I think you are correct. I did not understand the behavior of the scan not showing channels already found. I'm still not sure I have found anything. When I go to TV Guide and say watch a channel. I get the error "Unable to communicate with the recording service".

I tried restarted the recording service. This didn't help. Was I suppose to set my mux somewhere?

I would expect that is a firewall problem blocking TCP on your local machine.

2011-05-01 11:23:15.597 [ERROR][1] Unexpected error calling ReloadSettings(): System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it ::1:8968

There was a couple of other users that had this recently. From memory it was something to do with IP4 on their machine not being able to identify 'localhost', and they needed to explicitly add localhost to their hosts.txt file. You'd need to do a forum search to find the exact details.
