yes, you are right. i will ask blader, if he can provide a database including plugin/skin-name, file/folder-name, target file/folder, version number, date of the last update.

this would be great, since we would not need new authentification. the wiki-members could change the database-entries.

i think, the whole plugin must be downloaded every time it changes. we don't know, which version the user is running so we don't know which files are needed.

edit: i think it is time to move the thread to the developers forum ;-)
