I'm looking for the best complementary product to NPVR to provide a web player interface. For example running Windows Media Center 7 etc. alongside NPVR to allow (remote control) access to UK services such as Sky Player and BBC iPlayer?
I'm thinking of running WMC, with appropriate plugins (already has native Sky Player support), but not configuring any tuners etc. (as all recording/playback handled by NPVR). I don't think there will be any comparable native mature plugins for NPVR in the near future and there is an appeal to watching web streaming programs using a remote control (and not having to use a mouse and browser/app).
Anybody have any experiences on thoughts on this? I try to keep my setups as simple as possible so I'd really like to know of any issues/caveats of having multiple PVR apps running concurrently. With a Harmony remote control driving an iMon receiver I'm quite happy with launching and managing multiple apps.
