If I was you I would bite the bullet & see what NextPVR & mvpmcx2 can do!!

You may actually not need to layer ontop of what you have but instead use what you have from within NextPVR.

Quote:It seems I cannot delete from the video library using mvpmcx2...so this is actually complicates things while it fixes others. This is the problem. I have never remuxed to mpg.....SageTV creates mpgs..from the stream, this is the only reason I had them -- that was in a different forum Sad

Did you read my message?? You CAN delete from the video library without a problem, you can't delete from the music library & I for one wouldn't want it so you could after all the time I have spent getting my music sorted out.

Sorry Jaggy,

You are right and I messed up my question..Thanks for staying with me here..I mistakenly asked if I can delete files from the music library earlier in the thread.....Sub said no. What I meant to ask was if you can delete videos from the video library, not just the recordings screen. I was thinking all along you couldn't...as I cannot from NEWA Video Library screen.. Thanks for setting me straight. It looks like I should never really need to leave this interface...unless perhaps I have a DVD folder or something like that to watch. I hope I am clear now, thanks again.

I think most of the confusion is comparing NEWA's functionality to NPVR's, it is an unusual reference point. You should also be be able to play DVD ISO's using the NPVR interface on the PCH with some confguration of your share/ You are lucky this works, this is normally difficult over wifi.

I am unusually new here -- I appreciate your patience with me and help, you have been so kind. Due to my DirectX problem I still haven't resolved in another thread (software rendering).... my only practical experience with NPVR has been through NEWA -- that is all I know. If I can play an ISO or Video_TS structure, and see TV schedules... and delete files from the Video Library...all from my PCH --- I will soon be in my version of heaven Smile I cannot wait! Thanks for creating this!

Yes, on the WiFi part....work for a large networking company and have tuned the heck out of the Wifi.... There is little that doesn't work...and I agree this is highly abnormal.....but it wasn't easy Smile I am persistent ...I'll get everything going ...with the help of some really smart people.

Thanks again!!

Which is why I keep suggesting you get it up running on your NMT's Wink It shouldn't take you long to get it up & running & if you are only 10% as impressed as I was when I first got it working & had a play with it you will be hooked BIG time Big Grin

You can do that plus, plus, plus, plus & some more pluses & Martin even said he would try to figure out a way for you to use the scripts from SuperSimple Archiver so your recordings actually stay in Recordings which would be better still.

Thanks Jaggy...I get the vibe......PCH will become a small feature of NPVR Smile I am going for it.. I can't wait! One last question before I jump in.....with the installation GUI, do I install the skins/plugins and do a NMT setup? Or just install the base mvpmcx2 software and add the rest later if I need it?

Looking at this:

Thanks a bunch!

NMTInstall2 does't install any skins or plugsin yet. When you first installed NPVR I would have expected everything, now I'd tick everything but option 2, unless you have applied patches and I would also select those in option 2.
