Npvr is failing for me, for no obvious reason I can see.
Lots of 0 byte recordings are being made, so I don't know where or how it is improved ?

The logs don't show any errors.

This is with any channel.
I removed the tuner card, and put it in another machine, and all is well.

Ideas what the issue can be ?

Are any recordings on that particular channel working? From the log snippet above, it looks like its tuning ok, and getting a signal, so I'm guessing if the service number is wrong for that channel.

Sorry, I was away, and just got back.
No, no channel would work.
Before I left, I uninstalled, and reinstalled, and it didn't help.

The odd part is, that it is working again. I am at a loss as to why.

I was still wondering though, just what should happen on a 0 byte recording, the behavior seems to be the same as before.
You don't get any notification that it is going on, and it happily records a show with 0 bytes.

Oh, a note on the reinstall. Since I thought that the database was corrupted, I elected to do a 'clean' install. It still would be nice if we can load up the old database file, and export the channels to the new database...

I'm not home to check the exact details, but from memory - It now marks zero byte recordings as 'failed', and lists an approprirate (albeit generic) error message. Previously they just showed as successful, but obviously failed to play. They previously showed as no error because as far as a the application was concerned nothing had gone wrong (but the device has not delivered any data for the channel the user requested).

This is different from a error that is visible to the application, like device failing to start, or unable to find some component, etc, which will result in a more detailed error message telling you exactly why a recoridng did not occur.
