I think I know the answer is no, from previous posts, but wanted to be sure. No idea what srt means.

My show is .ts, and I can right click and choose and see the subtitle on the NPVR computer playback - just not on the PCH. Tried native player on pch too but no joy there either.

Thanks

No mvpmcx2 doesn't support embedded mpeg-ts subtitles teletext or graphic and neither does the NMT. SRT is sub-ripped and there are various ways to get these from ts files. Although mvpmcx2 supports SRT from NPVR, there is no way to sync the timing and I think you'd want to use the native NMT player.

Ah, I see. Bummer. Anyway, it's just one movie, maybe the easiest workaround for me is to install NPVR in client mode on the laptop, and play the movie direct to the TV using HDMI out.

Will future Media Extenders be able to do this with mvpmcx2 (or can they now?) ... or is this something that is unlikely to ever happen due to limitations I will never understand?

jksmurf, I am not sure what format you have on you subtitle stream, but I am able to extract the DVB-S subtitles to srt format, convert the recording to mkv and then watch it with subtitles on my PCH using mvpmcX2. See this post for futher information (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post410418).
