Manual Record popup does not pop up!

Hello all,
I'm trying to use NPVR as a better capture device than the rather clunky ArcSoft module that comes with the Hauppauge HD-PVR installation disc. Installed NPVR ok, main window opens fine, Hauppauge appears as a device present and enabled in settings, but hitting Manual Record gets only the following exception message and the program seizes. Probably missing something obvious, but not a clue!

A little progress: Installed the patch files, now manual record gets a message in the main window, "no channels set up". Tried to set up a channel, then hitting manual record gets the old error, but now the program closes ok. I'll continue some testing later today.

A question: do you recommend dotNetFx40? Havent update to that yet.

Ah, right. Not needed then.

There is no metion on the download page that .NET 4.0 contains .NET2.0 which NPVR uses, unlike .NET 3.5 which also containes .NET3.0 and .NET 2.0.

Got it working, thanks for your prompt replies! I stay with .NET3.5 then. I think the file name is dotNetFx.exe, which I remember as Donut Fix... just what every computer geek needs at 3AM...
Since the Hauppauge HD-PVR is not a TV tuner, just a USB capture device using component inputs, it was slightly tricky to set the "channel".
One further little mystery, it seems NPVR takes the recording at the last settings I use for the supplied ArcSoft capture module when it controls the Hauppauge. There, for example, if I set 7.0MB vbr, then making a recording with NPVR seems to use those settings. Does that sound right? I'll experiment further to verify that.
