A recent post indicated that they can't perceive the new highlighting of currently playing shows. On my NMT it is really drastic (image no border), on the PC it is a little more subtle. If you don't see them maybe check colourspace, contrast and brightness settings.

Mhm, i don't get what you mean. Could you possible upload pictures with higher resolution and mark the differences?
My display is sRGB calibrated and i can't see any differences on the pictures above. Smile

Every programme that's currently airing is shown in grey. So Arthur, The Morning Show, TV Guide, etc...

Edit: well not Arthur as it's in green, but it would be grey rather than black if it wasn't selected.

Thanks for explaining it. Smile

I was trying to be subtle with the highlighting. I can certainly see it on my monitor and TV, but I did wonder whether other might struggle on their setups.

This view from the NMT probably shows it best.

Depends on the TV/Monitor and the PC setup. Both images have equal shading to me.

I think it's an optical illusion (although not in the traditional sense).

Subconsciously our eyes are drawn to the left of the image (screen) and as a result the grey programme cells don't immediately stand out - if I deliberately look to the right of the image (screen) I see a black background for the cells and when I look back to the left, the cells are more noticeably grey.

It probably also depends on the duration of the programmes on the left - the longer the duration, the more grey is where our eyes are drawn to and subconsciously it looks like that is the default background colour until a glance to the right and back again shows the contrast.

Just a thought. Smile

tbh: this feels like a solution to a problem I didn't know I had.
It has always seemed obvious to me what shows are currently showing simply based on the position of the time indicator.
Also the grey seems faded which is sort of implying something that isn't happening rather than something that is.
Maybe I will get used to it but I would like to be able to disable it if at all possible.
