Universe plugin and duration

It seems that (unlike on the PC) when I use the Universe plugin on the NMT it does not "know" the duration of the video so it always displays "0:00" on the time bar. So, when I pause to try to let a buffer build up and skip ahead it jumps back to the beginning of the video. Is there any way that the duration could be passed along or is it not possible? Thanks.

Universe playback is a bit of a kludge since I bypass the NextPVR web server and I read from the PlayOn web server directly. Normally NextPVR provides the duration information and in this case the plugin API isn't rich enough for me to control what NextPVR sends to the client, and there isn't enough demand for me to try and do this all in mvpmcx2. If more of the PlayOn services worked here in Canada, I'd probably be more motivated.
