It wont change existing channels or epg settings in your database. It'll just list new channels not already in your database. You can backup your npvr.db3 for piece of mind though.
How do you delete the channel database? I'm trying to add some new channels but haven't been successful. I deleted npvr.db3 before the scan but only 3 channels appear. I went as far as uninstalling Npvr. And even though there are 0 channels in the Devices screen after the scan it only shows those same 3 channels.
If you delete your npvr.db3 file then it'll start from scratch with an entirely empty database.
If it's not finding and channel, post your logs and I'll take a look. Are you sure you get good reception on these other channels that aren't showing up?
It looks like something odd is happening with your tuner and it's never tuning the new channel, so in effect you're scanning the same frequency over and over.
I'm not sure what you'd do about that. Have you recently changed avermedia drivers?
once your tuner gets it's first signal lock on channel 7, it won't tune any other channel and keeps feeding the same data to NPVR, so it keeps finding the same 3 channels over and over again.
try updating your tuner card drivers; beyond that I don't know. maybe sub will have another idea tomorrow.
(argh... didn't see sub was on and beat me to the post button. at least my diagnosis was the same as his)
