channel scan fails to see a lot of channels as encrypted?

using HDHR prime tuner in clear QAM mode - I did a channel scan to find 498 channels found! however 95% of these are unwatchable, and the hdhomerun status program shows them all as locked and high signal, but encrypted. I wonder why the hdhr program can figure that it's encrypted but the npvr channel scan can't?

The HDHR Prime has always had a mechanism available for apps to ask for the channel lineup, which is what NextPVR, but unfortunately that mechanism couldn't tell you if a channel was viewable or not (copy-freely/never/once). Recently they did add a variation on that mechanism to allow apps to get this info, but unfortunately it only works if they've done a full scan in the hdhomerun utility first (which most people haven't).

I'll probably add logic to first asked for the list of copy-freely channels (which will work if the user has done the full scan), otherwise fall back to the old (but-always-available) list.
