You can run it daily if you want.

I notice that when this command is run, I get reports of Failed Recordings, though technically these are actually completed recordings.

From my observations, the Failed Recordings listing starts from the 0th hour of the actual day the command is run.

The -recurring command line option is not described in Wiki. Obviously it would be good to have someone who knows precisely what this option does write up a description.

It tells the application to reprocess it's recurring recordings.ie, delete all pending episodes and recreate them.

This would normally happen automatically at the end of the epg update process.
