**Was previously in wrong forum location.**

Great PVR by the way, have used on previous occasions and swing back to see whats changed and liking the new changes.. great work by all concerned.. i'm a convert.

Question.

I've done an install and everything's working just dandy, but since the install somethings changed and I do not know how this could have happened and I am leaning towards a bug maybe?

Whereas channel numbers at install where BBC1 (1) and BBC2 (2) and ITV1 (3) etc etc.. they now appear as Channel4 (1) and More4 (2) and E4 (3) etc etc..

Not as they should be you'll agree.. can anyone throw some light on this.

Specs.

Installed latest NPVR 2.5.9 with R1 patch on Windows 7 on P4HT running at 3.0Ghz and 4Gb.

Thank you

So you're saying it originally had the correct channel numbers, but they all of a sudden changed to the wrong numbers? Odd. I cant think of anyway that would be possible, and I haven't seen any other reports of it.

What were you doing prior to the channel numbers changing?

If it ever happens again, post the logs and I'll take a look.

I think it's normal for the C4 channels to populate first because of the TP order (on satellite).

I usually do a bulk map and renumber the channels after a fresh install. There are a couple of sites that will list the usual channel numbers for you. NPVR doesn't seem to pick up the numbers from the transmitted stream.

I'm not sure the numbers are actually in the stream that NPVR looks at??

You don't mention if you are using DVB-S or DVBT but you are obviously not going to get the correct numbering on satellite. When I first started using NextPVR almost 2 years ago channel scans of terrestrial Freeview channels tended to produce channels in the correct order. However later scans from around a year ago tended to produce around half with the correct numbers. I never bothered to report the problem because I delete numerous unwanted channels so its only a minor job to renumber the remaining ones.

Sorry - I was assuming DVB-T

Other software that I have gave me the choice of using a number chosen by the software or picking up the number from the stream. Channel numbers are correctly assigned by most Freeview devices so they must get their data from somewhere ota.

Thanks for quick reply, its appreciated. All to often questions go unanswered, I am therefore grateful.

I have done some additional tests and the findings whilst not conclusive are that the channel numbers re-ordered themselves only when the v2.5.9 patch was applied.

I have tested by uninstalling, and rolling back to pro patch update? In short, prior to applying patch channel number positions are retained as I would expect after an initial scan during tuner install and configuration.

I mentioned it was not conclusive, I want to try a couple of additional changes.

I will report back, but as I write the channel numbers continue to be correct.

Thank you again for reply and to all those that have bothered.
