Hello!

I've decided to try NextPVR (v2.5.9).
While EPG seems to be populated from the channels (over the air) just fine,
the language is wrong as some channels transmit billingual EPG (English & Greek).
How can I switch language to get the Greek EPG descriptions?

Thank you.

You cant currently force the EPG language, but I'll try to add a setting for it in the next release. For now it just uses the default language.

You did add a setting for epg language a while ago, but perhaps it was just for xmltv?

Before creating this thread, I've used the forum's search function,
thus I've found and tested the <PreferredLangXMLTV> option.

Sorry for not mentioning it earlier.

Which again means that if you use DVBGuide to collect the epg data to an xmltv file (like I do) you CAN actually choose the language you want Smile

I understand that, but it renders invalid the Npvr feature of updating the channel's OTA EPG while recording, to adapt to schedule changes on the fly.
I will be looking forward for that exciting new option in config, that Sub told us!

Updating epg during recording has proven to cause a lot of problems in the past so I would not use that feature if I were you. Even if you collect the epg with a batch file you can let task scheduler do it for you as many times a day as you want, but how often does the epg really change?

Last time was a week ago, when a weekly show I was recording was canceled and EPG reflected that on time to cancel that recording few minutes after it began.

Lucky you, here they do not update the epg until next day if a show is moved or canceled. Btw, recording one too many is no crisis Big Grin
