I've been playing around a bit with JSON in XBMC and I now am able to automatically load the files I open with X-NEWA into the XBMC TV Shows and Movies database, share resume points and when I delete from X-NEWA it deletes from XBMC. I also have modified imageGrabLite to create the NFO files needed to make this happen even while they are in progress. This is primarily for my personal use and it is off by default but if anyone want me to explain this more let me know.

That sounds good. Is it possible to load all recordings into the XBMC library, and keep adding new ones as they happen?

If XBMC is running you can remotely connect to it so it can update its database, but this not something I am working on. You can configure it to automatically scan on start up but that could be slow depending on how many files you have.

The smartest thing to do is make sure your choice for recording to NextPVR extra directories separates files into tv shows, movies, videos, and music video. However without renaming files or having NFO files you still will not have a nicely scraped collection, automatically.

Here is a YouTube demo of the whole process working, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc0sve7GBEE When the records start, ParallelProcess.bat creates an NFO file and when X-NEWA open it it asks XBMC to add them to the appropriate libraries. The file is almost immediatel available to XBMC assume the file is on a common drive local or shared. When it is deleted it is deleted from XBMC and NextPVR databases.

In that demo, I also recorded a copy of "The Mentalist" but this particular episode had no subtitle or season/episode info so it can't be renamed. Here is how the NFO files that imageGrabLite creates get imported.

Here's some more integration with XBMC profiles in the next beta version. http://youtu.be/UUt4vEqXm6Q At the profile level you will be able to configure x-newa to run in different modes, readonly which prevents deleting and scheduling, and locks down the channel groups and also and anoptional restricted mode which can limit recordings by the red, green yellow and/or blue settings in NextPVR

I'm doing something similar. I have my recordings mapped as a separate directory. There are two Add-Ons I've played with for Library updates:

Library watchdog will poll directories and update immediately on any change. Nice, but it's all your defined sources or nothing - but virtually instant when new content is added.

XBMC Library Update will scan your libraries at a set hourly interval and works well for updates. What's nice is, aside from the global scan time, you can define up to 3 additional paths, each with their own time interval for scanning for new content. This works the best for me.

I am moving to a central XBMC MySQL setup which I hope to update via PostProcessing.bat. The primary reason I added X-NEWA integration was to have a method to delete and archive within XBMC and keep the backend NextPVR database updated.

I'd give that a try. I already have a central MySQL setup running with XBMC with several clients. It works very well.
