spread recordings

Has anyone been able to get the spread setting to work successfully, I haven't, but think it would be a fantastic feature

What's not working about for you? Post your logs and I'll take a look.
It doesn't take turn-about writing to each directory. It writes to the volume with the most space available. Maybe this was making you think it wasn't working?

Well I added another recording directory on another drive that had more free space and left it for a few days but it didn't make any difference, just kept writing to the original.Will post logs tomorrow but they might be a bit messed up because I manually changed the default directory recently.

Just had a look and I have actually deleted the second entry from the recordings settings screen,and this is a fresh computer about a week ago, not the one I was originally using,but I recall this one wouldn't work either, anyway I have just re-added it but now there is a big disparity between free space available, which log files do you need and how long will I need to wait before I post the new ones,I have just run the epg update if that helps.
Just decided to post the new logs I have anyway, seems to say something about disk space, but only on 1 drive

Are you sure you've got multiple recording directories specified in the Settings screen, and you haven't explicitly told the recordings to go a specific directory? ie, the spread recordings only apply to those that'll go to the default recording directory. Those that have explicitly specified a directory will always be sent there.

just tried it here, doesn't work for me either. Honestly I've never seen anyone say they got this to work.

Yeah i'm pretty sure they are all set to default, i've only just re-added the second directory on another drive but it never worked before anyway,I know I can change the default directory but I am installing a new drive and keeping the old one, and if it was automated it would be great instead of manually changing it from time to time.
