imageGrabLite adds years

I installed the most recent version of imageGrabLite and it seems to have changed the naming convention adding the year into several of the titles, though not all of them.

Here's what I'm getting now - "Once Upon a Time (2011).S02E18.Selfless, Brave and True.ts"
Here's what I used to get - "Once Upon a Time.S02E01.Broken.ts"

Is there a parameter I can use to drop the (yyyy) from the file name? I'd like to keep the file names all uniform to match what I already use so when I list a directory through windows they show up in chronological order.

I'm using Schedules Direct if that makes a difference.

It is possible that someone did some database editing at thetvdb.com and added a earlier version of the show making the year qualifier mandatory for xbmc I'll think about changing this I am not comfortable since it is the wrong name.

Have you considered a parameter to drop the year? This is still a problem with this show in particular and I'm not sure why. The show first started back in October 2011, but the thetvdb.com database seems correct for the individual episodes. For example it shows that season 02,episode 19 first aired on 2013-04-21 and episode 20 first aired on 2013-04-28. But both get renamed with (2011)

I don't see any problem in your examples. The (2011) id's when the show started and technically is needed if there is an earlier broadcast like this http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=83882&lid=7 with the same name

If this is new, I suspect this problem started with a change in thetvdb, the English version is clearly marked with the (2011)

You should be able to override the better name using a this override in Plugins\SearchLite\SearchLite.xml

From the looks of it some of the thetvdb entries are going to that format. For example "Bachelor Pad (2010)" and "Click (2000)" which has been running 13 years. It's hit or miss though with many shows only showing the name with no year suffix.

Right, there is no bug in imageGrabLite. The naming used by thetvdb and most applications is typically the first time a show name is used there is no year, but when there subsequent shows the year get added. Sometime it is not obvious ie an obscusre PBS show from the 70's called "Once Upon a Time" to obvious remakes like Dallas vs Dallas (2012). Sometimes it is subtle too, the original "Hawaii 5-O" is now "Hawaii 5-0" so a year isn't needed.

Another difference is when there are two shows in different countries like Shameless and Shameless (US). The first country to get it doesn't get the country designator and they don't use a year.
