Tuner plugins and client id

I'm not sure I understand the question (tuners aren't merged, but channels can be).

The recording service calls this (poorly named method) when it's chosen the capture source to be used for a recording, and it wants to check if it's already tuned to the correct frequency etc. It's mainly used in the pre/post padding period to see whether it should start/stop the recording, or whether its still in use for a previous recording.

I'd like to say yes, but this would require relatively large changes, needing changes to all the existing capture plugins (built-in and 3rd party), and changes to the recording service remoting interface to allow the web server to pass this info in. It's a lot of changes. I'm not saying 'no', but I'll need to think about what it'll mean for anything that current references those interfaces.

I did mean merged channels, thanks. I probably should wait for the logs, I'm trying to anticipate what I might be returning differently for LiveTV if recordings work.
